My Story
甲午 | 丙寅 | 丁酉 | 丙寅
I was born in the year of the Yang Fire Tiger 丙寅, in Chongqing China, Sichuan Province. At the age of four, I emigrated to the US to be reunited with my parents who had emigrated shortly after I was born. I spent my childhood and formative years in Seattle, WA in Coast Salish and Duwamish territory.
In 2011, a series of personal crises drove me into the Amazonian jungle where I began my journey with plant medicine and shamanism. From there, I became captivated by the ancient Siberian roots of shamanic practices and the animist traditions bridging indigenous Asia and Latin America. I then dedicated myself to exploring the wisdom traditions from my heritage.
Over the course of a decade, I have studied under teachers rooted in Daoist philosophy and practice, including artists Lily Cai, healers/tradition holders Master Zhongxian Wu and Liu Ming, and writers/martial artists Lindsey Wei and Deng Ming-Dao. The diverse modalities of my teachers all inform and shape my practice. However, my primary approach to divination and astrology is from the perspective of an artist. In increasingly complex times, these practices are powerful navigation tools that support us in the art of making choices. I believe these ancient views and methods have immense relevance in our modern post-industrial world. In the face of isolation and alienation, they orient us to find alignment and belonging in space and time.

Living the Round
壬子 - present
I reside in Coast Salish, Snohomish, Miwuk and Ohlone land, splitting my time between the Pacific Northwest, Sierra mountains and the Bay area. At the start of the pandemic, my partner and I lived full-time outdoors, stewarding 12 acres where we are building our first home and eventual artist retreat. This chapter of my journey has been about experiencing time in tune with nature’s cycles, learning ancestral skills and integrating my personal destiny with an ecological one.
